  • $3 a week, the cost of a latte, can provide food for a family of five for 2 weeks
  • $7 a week, the cost of a small toy, can provide up to 25 car seats for children
  • $12 a week, the cost of a shirt, can deliver 98 meals to older adults
  • $16.50 a week, the cost of a movie for two, can fund 106 calls to help refer individuals to the services they need

Earth Share of Michigan

The Ecology Center, an EarthShare of Michigan member organization developed a consumer action guide to toxic chemical in toys, www.healthytoys.org  and in mid-September 2009 will be launching  HealthyStuff.org  an online database with the latest test results for toxic chemicals in cars, child car seats, toys, children's products, and pet products.
