Boy Scouts of America – SW MI Council:  To prepare young people 7-21 to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Charitable Union: Collects and distributes clothing and bedding to children and families in need, free of charge within the greater Battle Creek community.

Guardian Inc.:  Guardian provides guardianship, conservatorship, and payeeship services to vulnerable individuals.  The agency also provides money management assistance to senior citizens and financial literacy training. www.guardian-inc.org

 

Legal Services of South Central MI:  LSSCM provides free civil legal assistance to low income persons with emphasis on homelessness prevention, domestic violence prevention, accessing health care, food, and needs-based programs. jschrand@umich.edu

 

Lifespan:  Lifespan is a Joint Commission accredited, Medicare certified, non-profit home care corporation providing quality skilled nursing, therapies, hospice, and home medical equipment services. www.lifespan4u.org

 

S.A.F.E. Place:  SAFE Place is a comprehensive domestic violence service provider offering victims and their children a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, advocacy, case management and counseling. www.safeplaceshelter.org

 

Substance Abuse Council of Greater Battle Creek:  We are a drug prevention coalition focusing on drug prevention with families; achieving of a healthy community through the prevention of substance abuse. www.drugfreebc.org

The Salvation Army:  The Salavtion Army provides food, shelter, utility, rent, prescription, and transportation assistance, soup kitchen, beauty shop, and youth programs to residents of Calhoun County, without discrimination.

 

Volunteer Center of Battle Creek:  The Volunteer Center promotes volunteerism and connects people with agencies seeking volunteers. We also manage the 211 Call Center which provides information and referral services. www.volcenterbc.org

 

Washington Heights Community Ministries:  Established in 1987 for Senior citizens, youth after school and summer Enrichment Program and a Food/ Nutrition Program.  These programs are open to all citizens of Battle Creek, without cost and fees.
