Crawford County United Way

CCUW provides funding for a variety of local non-profit agencies. These agencies provide much needed support and education to those in need in our community.
   
American Red Cross

Local disaster relief for immediate needs required after fires and similar crisis situations. All funds are used for food, clothing, shelter, and medical supplies. Provided lodging for forest fire victims and canteen service to workers and volunteers during the 08 forest fire.
   
AuSable Free Clinic

Non-profit organization that provides quality health care by a primarily volunteer staff to individuals who have no insurance, do not qualify for government medical insurance and cannot afford private medical care.
   
AuSable Valley Youth Services

The agency supplies youth support and advocacy services, assessments, adolescent life skills groups, early intervention and referral services. These services are designed to reduce juvenile delinquency and abuse and neglect among school aged children in Crawford County.
   
Big Brothers Big Sisters

School-based mentoring program for youth in Crawford County including "Bigs in Schools - K thru 3" "Lunch Buddies - 4 - 6th" and Community Based - adult/child".
   
COOR Intermediate Schools (R.O.O.C., Inc.)

Employment and skills training for persons with disabilities: provides support to maximize independence. Funding also helps place more clients in the workforce.
   
Crawford County Christian Help Center

The organization provides a variety of services to those in need in the community. Funds received from the CCUW is used to provide free lunches to more than 200 children in the county during summer break. These children receive free or reduced rate lunches during the school year.
   
Crawford County Commission on Aging

The commission on Aging organization provides needed assistance for the elderly in the county including education, advocacy, various programs including the meals-on-wheels program.
   
G.R.A.C.E. Center

Grayling Cooperative Pre-School

Provides a stimulating and creative atmosphere that allows children to function where they are developmentally, yet simultaneously encouraging them to reach the next stage of growth. Three and four year old children are better prepared for kindergarten after inclusion in this program.
   
MSU Extension Services

Youth development and education through 4-H club activities and Senior Fresh provides adults living below specified poverty level with coupons good for an allotment of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Crisis intervention, counsel, legal advocacy, and shelter to victims of sexual & domestic violence. Also, public awareness programs.
