Alliance Against Violence and Abuse – Provides safety, support and advocacy to victims of family violence, sexual abuse and child abuse by encouraging and advancing the empowerment of victims.
Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter – The Respite Care Assistance Program reduces the stress level of caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease by providing temporary relief from their caregiving role.
American Red Cross, Central Upper Peninsula Chapter – Provides relief to victims of disaster and fire, conducts blood donor drives, and facilitates emergency communication with Armed Forces personnel.
Bay Cliff Health Camp – Intensive seven-week summer camp therapy program for children with orthopedic, hearing, vision, and speech-language impairments.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area – Volunteers provide positive role modeling to area children through traditional one-on-one matching and a school-based program.
Boy Scouts of America, Hiawathaland Council – Through scouts, young boys develop their character, citizenship training, and personal growth – mentally, physically and ethically.
Community Action Agency – The Senior Services Program provides well-balanced, nutritious meals to the frail elderly, enhancing their over-all health.
Girl Scouts of Peninsula Waters, Inc. – The Girl Scouts: Growing Strong Program helps girls increase their decision-making skills, demonstrate leadership, learn to set and achieve goals.
Lakestate Industries – Summer work program helps remove barriers to employment for disabled students by focusing on tools needed to achieve successful employment outcomes, based on employer expectations.
Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan – Voices for Youth – Provides support to runaways, homeless and at risk youth by teaching coping skills which will enable them to achieve self-sufficiency and economic independence.
Salvation Army – Addresses the needs of hunger, shelter, and utility assistance. A summer day camp program is offered for children ages 6-12.
Special Olympics – Creates opportunities for persons with disabilities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage in competition, experience the joy of achievement and make new friends.
Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan – Provides help with self-esteem, parenting skills, grief/depression/anxiety, marital concerns, sexual abuse, aggression, domestic violence, school issues and work related concerns.
United Way of Delta County – Impacting lives of individuals and families in Delta County by supporting local programs focused on three key areas: Basic Needs, Strengthening Families and Self-Sufficiency.
U.P. Catholic Charities – Counseling services for individuals, couples and families, including pre-marital, marital, family, problem gambling, batterers’ intervention and shoplifter’s awareness.
U.P. Library for the Blind & People with Disabilities – The library has an extensive collection of Talking Books, large print book and popular magazines for people with disabilities and blindness.
Welcome Newborns – MSU Ext./Community Foundation of Delta County – Every newborn’s family receives a tote bag filled with information about the development of their baby, the need for immunizations, parenting and available resources.
