United Way of Lapeer County is an organization that works to create lasting change in people’s lives.  We help to identify the root causes of the most significant problems, find ways to address them, and measure the results.

 

Alzheimer’s Association Greater Michigan Chapter  24/7 Helpline, Caregiver Support Groups, Care Consultation, Care Management, Respite Programs, Education and Training, Lending Library, Safe Return Program for wandering individuals, Advocacy efforts, Research support.

 

American Red Cross Genesee-Lapeer Chapter (800) 608-4272 Disaster, volunteer and emergency medical/dental services; services to military families/veterans; supplies blood to residents; provides instruction in health, first aid and water safety.

 

Christian Family Services of Lapeer County (810) 664-4557 The agency addresses the community problems of family and individual stress, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health counseling and parenting support and education.

 

County of Lapeer-Multipurpose Collaborative Body-Family Focus Mentors works with parents to be more in control of their home and family. services strengthen the areas of Parenting, finances, nutrition, organization and problem solving.

 

County of Lapeer-Multipurpose Collaborative Body-L.I.F.T. facilitates the Wraparound process for families that have children at risk of being removed from their home.  Services are individualized and family-centered.

 

Girl Scouts Fair Winds Council (810) 230-0244 Offer girls 5-17 an opportunity to develop skills, build self-esteem, and become resourceful young women through a variety of adult-guided programs.

 

Hispanic Service Center provides assistance to low-income individuals/families including financial, shelter, food, clothing, outreach and identifying long-term solutions to reach self-sufficiency.

 

Lapeer County 4-H Council (Lapeer County MSU Extension)   A community of youth 5-19 who learn leadership., citizenship and life skills through mentorships with caring adults in clubs, camps and other educational activities.
 

Lapeer County Council for Children seeks to prevent child abuse and neglect through education and public awareness.  It collaborated with Lapeer county agencies to identify needed services, coordinate existing programs, and initiate new ones.
